• To promote the heritage, preservation, restoration and maintenance of Horton cemetery for the public benefit
  • To promote and maintain burial, hospital, medical and photographic records of patients buried in Horton cemetery and of any patient who was admitted to any of the five psychiatric hospitals (known as “the cluster”) located in Epsom and Ewell in Surrey, for the public benefit
  • To promote research and education in and appreciation of the local history of the cemetery and the lives of the forgotten 9,000 (or thereabouts) persons buried in the cemetery.
  • To commission and maintain in a publicly accessible building, a Book of Remembrance of the forgotten 9000 names.

Our vision for the 5-acre site is a public garden-arboretum-nature reserve, for calm walks, meditation and reading, with a suitable memorial to all those buried there. (All tombstones having been previously removed.)
