I'm originally from Crosby in Lancashire and first came to Epsom with my young family in 1982. My job took us away for several years (Scotland, Belgium, Singapore) but we settled back in Epsom in 2004. I've been researching family history and local history since then and I've enjoyed helping others with their research (26,000 posts on Rootschat!). A distant relative of my wife is buried at Horton (Caroline Oliver). A couple of years ago I sent in a story about Caroline, and promptly got roped in by Kevin to join the team of volunteer researchers.

I'm a trustee and former chair of Citizens Advice Epsom & Ewell, and vice chair of Epsom Parochial Charities. I was a trustee and treasurer of Carers of Epsom (now dissolved) for many years.
