FOHC Published Stories

The biographies, stories, research articles and other original written material published on this website have been researched and written by volunteers of the Friends of Horton Cemetery, a registered charity in England and Wales (Registered Charity No. 1190518).

Unless otherwise stated, copyright in material created by FOHC volunteers and published on this website is owned by, or used under licence by, the Friends of Horton Cemetery. All rights are reserved.

Copyright protects the original wording, selection and arrangement of FOHC material. It does not prevent the independent use of historical facts obtained from original or other lawful sources.

Except where permitted by law, FOHC material may not be copied, republished, distributed, adapted or otherwise reproduced, in whole or in substantial part, without the prior written permission of the Friends of Horton Cemetery.

Where FOHC gives permission for material to be reused, the following acknowledgement must be included unless different terms are agreed in writing:

1. the named volunteer author must be credited, where an author is identified;
2. the Friends of Horton Cemetery (Registered Charity No. 1190518) must be acknowledged as the copyright owner or authorised publisher, as applicable; and
3. HortonCemetery.org and, wherever reasonably practicable, the relevant webpage must be identified as the original source.

Any permitted alteration, abridgement or adaptation must be clearly identified and must not misrepresent the original material, its author or the Friends of Horton Cemetery. Permission to use FOHC material does not imply endorsement of the resulting publication, organisation, product or activity.

Permission to reuse material does not transfer or assign copyright or waive any moral or other intellectual property rights.

Photographs, documents, images, quotations and other third-party material appearing on this website may be protected by separate copyright or supplied under particular licence conditions. Permission relating to FOHC’s own material does not extend to third-party material. Anyone wishing to reproduce such material is responsible for identifying the rights holder and obtaining any necessary permission.

Nothing in this notice is intended to restrict fair dealing or any other use permitted under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988.

FOHC may request the correction or removal of material that infringes its copyright, misrepresents its work or has been used in breach of an agreed permission.
