Horton Cemetery Memorial Event – 7 November 2026

A moving ceremony took place at Horton Cemetery, remembering the 9,000 people buried there, including Polish soldiers. The Mayor of Epsom and Ewell, Councillor Lucy McIntyre, laid a wreath, followed by a poignant rendition of the Last Post and the release of doves.

Trustees of the Friends of Horton Cemetery attended, with one lighting a lantern in memory of relatives of Polish families and another laying flowers in remembrance of all others buried there. Representatives of the Royal British Legion were also present.

The Friends extend heartfelt thanks to everyone for their tremendous support in honouring those who must never be forgotten.
